Empowered Voices – It’s Not Just a Quote
By Elise Bradley, Co-Editor of Quick Quotes
Support can be felt in a variety of ways. Whether it is taking time to care for yourself or something as simple as reading a quote each week, support looks different for everyone. If you are not sure what I mean by weekly quotes, let me tell you a little bit about Quick Quotes. I am the co-editor of Quick Quotes, an initiative within Empowering the Ages that sends out a weekly email featuring a quote, whether it is uplifting, inspirational, or just plain silly. Originally started in 2020, the first Quick Quotes email was sent to just 16 recipients. Now, we are at nearly 200 recipients, and we have an Instagram with more than 50 followers.
With the countless emails people receive each week, from co-workers to family, friends, and spam emails, or in my case, colleges that just do not seem to have an unsubscribe button, I truly believe Quick Quotes stands out in your inbox. It is a constant. Each Monday morning at 9:00 AM ET, you can expect to see the Quote of the Week in your mailbox and know that the message inside will be positive, thoughtful, and maybe even make you smile. In its simplest form, that is support.
Whether a recipient feels supported by taking a moment to reflect on the quote, by receiving a bit of positivity in a stressful world, or even by being quoted in our email, that is what makes Quick Quotes special. It is a simple and easy way to feel encouraged and connected, even if only for a few minutes. Support is about knowing that something or someone is there for you, even in small ways. Quick Quotes offers that kind of steady reminder each week.
Whether it is through signing up for Quick Quotes, following our Instagram, or another activity, I hope you find what support looks like for you. I am extremely grateful to have an outlet like Quick Quotes, and I hope others can experience that same sense of support as well.
