Matthew is a high school student and a MAGIC student officer and musician who enjoys music. He has been performing music in senior centers since the pandemic and hopes to spread happiness, enjoyment, and pleasure through his playing.

Ryan

Ryan is a high-school student and a MAGIC student officer and musician. He has been playing the cello for over 5 years now. He has a deep passion for music and wishes to share this feeling with others.

Samuel

Samuel is a co-founder of MAGIC. “I enjoy music for its ability to convey feelings and messages, as well as the beauty of its tune. I hope that the music I play will be able to both entertain people, and also potentially give them an outlet for their thoughts.”

Timothy

MAGIC musician Timothy says, “I have been playing the piano since I was 5 years old. I enjoy playing sports and hanging out with friends in my free time. I live with my parents and 2 dogs, and I have two older siblings in college.”

Becca

Becca began working for ETA as a founder of the Quick Quotes initiative in 2020. Becca and her co-founder send a motivational quote to a large audience weekly with the goal to inspire and bring positivity. “I love quotes because they often help me find motivation, inspiration, or just make me laugh. With all the positive feedback we receive for Quick Quotes, it is great to know that we are making a difference in people’s lives!”

Daphne

Daphne, an ETA MAGIC performer, has been playing violin since she was four and started participating in virtual concerts as a way to connect with others especially during hard times. “I hope you will cheer up while hearing me play!”

Elise

Former Quick Quotes C0-Editor Elise is a high school student who loves to play soccer and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She enjoys making people laugh and is grateful to be able to bring smiles and inspiration every week with the Quick Quotes emails.

Eon

High schooler Eon says “I am excited to join MAGIC as a student officer and musician, as music has been my passion since I was young. I enjoy performing violin, and I am grateful I am a contributing community member with music-making experiences for others. In my spare time, I have fun playing badminton and basketball.”

Eric

Eric was a high school student performing as a MAGIC musician. “Delighting people, especially seniors with music is my passion.”

Jonathan

Former Quick Quotes Content Specialist Jonathan was a high school student passionate about pursuing creativity in different avenues of his life. He has been playing the piano for others since childhood and loves producing and sharing creative writing.

Katie

Katie has been participating in ETA MAGIC concerts since 2020. Katie enjoys playing the flute and piano. She has been dedicated to delivering musical performances to the senior community since she was seven.

Shaun

Shaun is the founder and former student president of MAGIC (Music Across Generations in the Community), a student-led music initiative created in partnership with Empowering the Ages. He launched the program in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic to continue bringing music and connection to older adults experiencing isolation during quarantine. Through performances and emceeing concerts, Shaun helped grow MAGIC into a meaningful intergenerational program focused on uplifting the community through the healing power of music.

Throughout middle and high school, MAGIC played an important role in Shaun’s development as both a leader and musician while allowing him to give back to the generations that helped build the community. Shaun is grateful for the support ETA provided throughout the program’s growth. While he plans to pursue engineering in college, he hopes to continue sharing music and connecting with others through performance.

Sophie, an ETA MAGIC performer, enjoys reading and listening to music.

Sophie

Former Quick Quotes Editor Sophie was a high school student from Southern California who loved reading, playing tennis, and playing the violin in her free time. She is so thankful to have been an editor for Quick Quotes and hopes to make a difference in other people’s days!

Talia

Talia began volunteering for ETA as a founder of the Quick Quotes initiative in 2020, alongside Becca. Talia loves to make the world a better place. “I love working for the Quick Quotes Program because I get to impact people’s weeks and help them start their day with a smile.”
