School Readiness

School Readiness

The ETA Connections Program prepares young children for success in school by pairing trained older adult volunteers with preschool and kindergarten students and their caregivers. Through weekly mentoring, family engagement, educational resources, and social-emotional support, children build early literacy, math, and social skills while caregivers gain the knowledge and confidence to support learning at home.

ETA creates meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to learn from and support one another. Through conversation groups, volunteer initiatives, educational workshops, and community events, participants reduce social isolation, build relationships across generations, strengthen civic engagement, and foster a greater sense of belonging.

ETA equips teens and young adults with the practical skills, confidence, and professional networks needed for career success. Through financial literacy education, career readiness training, one-on-one mentoring, and real-world experiences, participants develop workplace, communication, and financial management skills while learning from experienced older adult volunteers.
