Be a mentor to college students in a class project!
GROUPS FINALIZED IN MID JANUARY 2024 – please get in touch ASAP! Join a small group of college students (one volunteer + approx. 3 students) working on a semester-long class project. Sessions are selected Tuesday mornings Feb-May, from 10:00-11:30 AM, in Rockville, Md.
Each volunteer will serve as integral members of one student team, providing feedback, advice, and support as the students navigate each part of the project. This is an opportunity to share your experiences and insights with, and learn from, the students. NO specific professional background, training, or technology skills are required. Volunteer roles could include helping students pick a topic and create a research plan; supporting them in developing their group-work and communication skills; and sharing tips on effective interviews and presentations. Volunteers will work with the same group of students all semester long. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to be connected with the program coordinator for more information.
Help children and families get off to a great start to their education!
New volunteer groups form every spring/summer, and start work in the fall. Get in touch with us any time of year to be on our invitation list to an info session when groups are forming! Build a relationship with a local 4-year-old and their parent/caregiver for 18-20 months. We’ll provide training and materials for your weekly sessions of reading, playing, and learning with the child as well as conversations with the parent. You’ll also get lots of support from ETA staff and fellow volunteers in weekly peer group check-ins. Spanish-speaking volunteers are especially encouraged to apply! Email email@example.com
Help teens learn life skills, dream big, and make plans for the future!
