ETA staff attended “Strengthening the Foundation: Social Emotional Development in the Early Years,” MCPS’s Early Childhood Education Symposium on Saturday, September 10, along with dozens of dedicated pre-K/Head Start teachers and child care providers from the community. Topics included helping children develop resilience and emotional intelligence, sharing the surprising results of a year spent teaching outdoors, building children’s social-emotional skills through reading and vocabulary, using fun and games to effectively teach and assess—and much more!

Our thanks to Verna Washington and everyone at MCPS’s Division of Early Childhood, Title I Programs, and Recovery Funds for putting together this inspiring and informative event. We know it will enrich ETA’s work with MCPS pre-K and K students, as well as the daily work of everyone who attended.
